So, I have a huge extended family. My mom has nine brothers and sisters, all of whom have kids and those kids have kids. Plus, my dad has four brothers and sisters, who also have kids. And we’re all scattered across the country. So, I guess you could say I have had some experience with family newsletters; updates on the cousins’ soccer games and who’s marrying who and having babies and whatnot.
Well, let me tell you, if our family newsletters looked anything like this, you could bet that I’d actually read them! Nicole Ziegler, a Chicago designer, created these after one too many updates slipping through the cracks in her internationally spread-out family. I love the story behind the design and the design itself is gorgeous. I wish real newspapers looked half this nice. Then maybe the newspaper industry wouldn’t be in danger of extinction!
