Mad about Mad Men

Mad Men won the Emmy for best TV Series: Drama and I can understand why. These leading ladies are stunning on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. And the glimpse into the world behind the scenes of the show is really spectacular. It really seems like a different era.

MISSPENT

This, to me, is perfect. I love the color palette and the detailed typography and the grid is really nice to look at. Everything about it makes me want it on my wall. Designed by Ervin Esin, found via FPO

my DIY jewelry board

A few weeks back I wrote an email to Arianna, of Arianna Belle Blog, asking what to do about my lack of jewelry storage and organization. She was so wonderful and followed my question up with a three-part post with TONS of ideas! So, finally I’ve gotten around to posting my creation – my very own DIY jewelry board! It’s still a little rough, I’d like to eventually paint the clothespins & tacks black, but here it is!

HOW-TO:
I found a frame, the perfect size, at a sidewalk sale in my neighborhood for $0.50 and covered it with fabric I had leftover from another project.
Then, I sewed ribbon onto the fabric in 3″ sections so that it wouldn’t pull from all of the weight and secured tacks on either side to hold my costume rings.
And I got these clothespins for just $1 at JoAnn Fabrics. The whole project was such a steal!

Two Invite Do’s

1. CUTE COPYWRITING
This is definitely an invite-do. I love the adorable word play and the graphic patterns. It is so simple, but fun!

2. FUN WITH LAYOUT
I am such a big fan of playing with the size and orientation of any piece of design, and wedding invitations should be no different. This pamphlet-style invite has all of the necessary information in the cutest package! Plus, I love the colorful illustrations.

Emmy Fashion 2010

I loved last night’s Emmy’s. Seriously, Jimmy Fallon surprised me and was actually funny! And the dresses, oh the dresses, were just gorgeous. Especially Miss Leah Michelle. I think she definitely stole the show with her Navy Oscar de la Renta gown and stunning collar necklace. And one that I loved, which received a lot of flack was Anna Paquin’s Alexander McQueen dress. I thought it was so unique and really stunning. I wished it had been floor-length, but those shoes are totally worth showing off!

Glacé

Nathaniel Cooper is once again the genius behind some seriously beautiful design. This time, he’s paired with Brent Anderson again to create packaging for Glacé. The branding is really beautiful and the color palette is so delicious! Though the tubs of ice cream look a little too small for my liking!

found of course via Lovely Package
